ADDA Records and marathonofdope.com join forces to bring you “If And Only If”, the first collaboration between Birdapres and GreyJay (Andy Rudolph of progressive outfit Mahogany Frog). Bird raps, talks and mumbles. GreyJay rattles, bangs on things and plays some instruments. It’s noisy, quiet and occasionally deliberate. Old telephones, An echoplex that survived at least one war, discarded NFB tone generators, and an evil looking drum machine met more conventional instrumentation to create some distinct and refreshing take on a progressive rap recording. With submarine windows, watershed moments and counterfeit moon theories as it’s subject matter, expect a nine song trip through some murky and unsafe territory. What does it all mean?
